1888
Eastman introduces revolutionary electric cutting machine
Over a century ago,a Canadian inventor named George Eashman developed the first fractional electric motor that could be mounted on a machine.The motor was attached to a reciprocating knife mechaism and the first electric fabric-cutting machine was born--The Eastman revolutionized the apparel industry with a tool that ended tedious manual cutting-room labor.After countless patents and improvements from the first cutter builtin 1888,Eastman's current product line includes over 100 machines that are sold worldwide and are the standard by which all cutting machines are judged.

Eastman Hong Kong was established
With the global apparel industry tilting towards the Asia-Pacific region, Eastman established an Asia-Pacific sales and service center in Hong Kong in 1983, focusing on the Chinese mainland and Southeast Asian markets.
1995
Automation opens up new industrial directions
In 1995, Eastman acquired technology from North Sails Group, a global canvas manufacturer, and began a new industrial direction of automated cutting. The automatic cutting bed broadens Eastman's application field, and its products extend to industrial textile materials, nylon fabrics, vinyl fabrics, Mylar, canvas, membranes, Spectra, Nomex®, leather, rubber, glass fiber, Kevlar®®, Dyneema®, aramid fibers, prepregs, carbon fibers, mesh, foam plastics, honeycombs, velvet and carpets, etc., which are widely used in aerospace, navigation, automotive interiors, wind power generation, sports equipment, tent membrane structures,® Inflatable products and other industries, become the supplier of cutting equipment types

Eastman China plant established
In 2003, Eastman Sewing Machinery (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. was established in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. Eastman Ningbo is Eastman manufacturing base outside the United States, mainly engaged in manual cutting equipment, cloth pulling machine and automatic cutting equipment, products are continuously imported into Chinese mainland, and exported to Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States and other countries.
